Bio, or rather, My Testimony about God's Grace towards me in Christ

"Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little. Then Jesus said to her, 'Your sins are forgiven.' " (Luke 7:36-50, NIV)

That "her" is me!

Praise Adonai! God chose me in Christ before the foundation of the world. He made me a new creature in Christ Jesus! I'm still a work in progress, and so is my music. The more I am sanctified by the work of the Holy Spirit in me, the more the life and the music He's given me reveals who Christ is through me.

I am a minister of the ministry of reconciliation of Yaweh (God) in Yehsua (Jesus), His Messiah. I'd like to say that I am a prisoner of Jesus the Christ, having been one of the greatest sinners saved by His grace and mercy. But, I'm still submitting to Him in areas of my life. Being a prisoner of Christ means total submission to Him. I'm not there yet, but I will be. He will do it! That is His promise to me, and mine to Him.

I desire to be a slave to the ministry of reconcilation God has given me in Christ, having been one of the greatest sinners saved by His grace and mercy. Abortions, fornication, stealing, drugs, back-biting, and much more. Whatever was against God, I did it. I say I desire, because the Holy Spirit is continues to show me areas of my life where I have not submitted to Christ. Being a slave to Christ means that he is the Master of my entire life, not bits and pieces.

God created me to worship Him through my life which includes song. I was singing when I was in diapers. My father was a jazz pianist. He used to play "My Funny Valentine" on the baby grand while my mom sang with her velvet voice. This is still one of my favorite songs.

Before being receiving Christ, I gigged with bands singing funk and R&B, and starred in a couple of off-Broadway music. These genres are very heavy in my music, but now I sing Christ. Actually, even after being saved. I continued to sing the same music until I began to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to Christ.

I've been told that my sound is unique. I like it like that!  It’s what comes out of me through the Holy Spirit.  Jesus is like no one else, unique!

During an interview I was asked: "What brought me to this point in my life?" I rephrased the question to: "Who brought me to this point in my life?" My answer: Yahweh's grace and mercy in His son Jesus the Christ. The same is true for everyone. When I look back on my life, the answer is and will always be Yahweh."

People say that, in my music, they can hear the Father’s cry to the lost to be reconciled to Him through His Son Yeshua (Jesus). I pray that they can and will come to Jesus and take his light yoke. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by Him.

Sometimes I go by "K.I.M." which stands for Kingdom Inspired Ministry." It's a name that a good friend gave me. I love it!

I've been blessed to work witih very gifted Chrisitn artists and producers such as Donnie McLaurin, Steve Ebhodaghe, Joshua Patini, Solomon Ekwukoma, Kwame North, Angela Bryant-Brown, Lisa Glover, David Scott, and my husband Michael Black (an awesome drummer!).

I always tell people that each song was prepared for me before the foundation of the earth. It's taken all the experiences from my birth out of my mother's womb to being born-again, straight through to the last track that is recorded, mixed, and mastered.

The Lord has blessed me with several opportunities concerning music. The greatest of blessings concerning music are ministering in song together with my husband Michael and being a Worship Leader at my church.

I also serve as Deacon of my church's Outreach Ministry. But, I'm not surprised. Again, Jesus created me that way. I've been operating in the "outreach" mode for years. But, now, it's to preach the gospel, the good news, that all men's sin are forgiven paid for by the blood of Jesus, the Holy lamb of God!

Michael and I have two wonderful daughters Kristine and Kamille. They are our joy in Christ.

In that same interview, I was asked "Where do you go from here, what are your future plans and vision for your ministry?" My answer: God called me out of darkness into His kingdom of light. I can't go anywhere better than that! Having tasted Him and knowing that He is good, I want others to be saved, too, just like He does. The vision is to complete the ministry of reconciliation God has given me. And it will be completed. He who began a good work in me, is faithful to complete it. For me, the greatest honor to receive would be Christ saying 'Well done, my good and faithful servant.' ” (Matthew 25:21)
